Police respond to report of domestic dispute at highway rest area. Client approaches police and tells them he’s looking for his sister-in-law and brother, who had an argument earlier. He was following in separate vehicle and stopped when his brother reported that his wife walked off from nearby breakdown lane. Police focus soon turns to client, who displays signs of impairment and admits to drinking earlier, but it is unclear where and when he drank, or how long he has been at rest area outside his vehicle. Defense prepared to challenge proof of operation and time of impairment. DUI charge dismissed prior to trial.
